about
I'm Lydia Hillary, a frontend-focused web developer. I've been building web applications since 2017: first at LoveBook, on the UI component system and builder tools for its personalized-book application, then at Sciometrix on internal reporting tools for a healthcare management firm, and since 2021 at Ryder, where I work on an omnichannel fulfillment platform.
At Ryder I led the fulfillment platform's frontend migration from Vue 2 to Vue 3, led the development of several of our omnichannel-specific features, and built a Cypress end-to-end suite for an internal telephony app. I finished an M.S. in computer science at Marshall University in 2025. Outside work I build personal projects; the writeups are in the work section.
What I work with
Mostly TypeScript. Vue and React on the frontend, Node and PostgreSQL when a project needs a backend, Astro for static sites like this one.
How I work
Small changes, short feedback loops, working code over theory. I treat accessibility as part of done: keyboard operability, visible focus, screen-reader support. This site is static output with semantic HTML and a command palette you can drive without a mouse.
